How Deskew PDF works

These steps mirror the workspace higher on this page. They are written as a numbered outline so readers, search engines, and assistants can restate the flow without guessing.

   Upload an unprotected PDF

   Choose a PDF from your device. Password-protected, corrupted, and XFA files are rejected.

2. 2

   We measure each page

   Image pages are checked for a dominant tilt. Pages with real text, almost no content, or an unclear angle are skipped.

3. 3

   Tilted scans are straightened

   A confident page is rotated by the opposite angle. Page size stays the same; new corners are filled with white.

4. 4

   Download the PDF

   Corrected pages are images. Skipped pages are copied as they were. If nothing needed a change, the original file is returned.

Will every page change?

No. Pages with selectable text, pages that are already straight, and pages where the tilt is unclear are copied unchanged.

Does this rotate a sideways page upright?

No. Use Rotate PDF for 90°, 180°, and 270° turns. Deskew only corrects a small tilt.

Will the page size change?

No. The page stays the same size. Corners that rotate out are filled with white, so a little edge content can sit under that fill.

Are encrypted PDFs supported?

No. Unlock the file first with Unlock PDF, then deskew.
